From the ridges above Haletown to the water below, we cover 70 square miles of Marion County. It's a stretch of land as varied as the calls we run — homes, farms, backroads, and everything in between.
100+ Miles of Shoreline
We protect roughly 6,500 acres of Nickajack Lake, including the popular Hale's Bar Marina, the Nickajack Cave and Wildlife Refuge, and every dock, cove, and cabin along the way. Our marine unit is trained and equipped for water rescue across all of it.
17 Miles of interstate
Interstate response is some of the most demanding work we do — high speeds, heavy traffic, and split-second timing. Our crews train specifically for vehicle extrication and highway rescue along this stretch, so help arrives ready for whatever's on scene.

Homes, businesses, and outbuildings over 2,850 structures across our district count on HVFD to show up when it matters most. Every subscription and every volunteer hour goes directly toward keeping that promise.
