Requirements For Membership

1.

Minimum age of 18 (membership may be accepted for a 16 year old provided his father or brother is a member of the department and they sign a statement relieving us of any responsibility other than a regular fireman. 

2.

All applications will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.

3.

All members will give strict obedience to the orders of the officers of the department.

4.

There will be a 90-day probationary period during which time all new members must complete basic training on all fire fighting apparatus in the department. 

5.

The regular meeting and drills shall be held on the Second Sunday of each month at 1:00 PM in the fire station and the last Wednesday of the month at 5:30 PM. Special meetings and drills are to be held at specified times and places. ALL MEMBERS SHALL ATTEND

6.

Any time two or more regular meetings are missed without just cause you are subject to be dismissed as an active member.

7.

Any time two or more fire calls are missed without just cause you are subject to be dismissed as an active member. 

8.

Any time you are called to come fight a fire and you leave before the job is complete two or more times, without just cause, you are subject to dismissal as an active member. THE JOB IS NOT COMPLETE until the trucks are back in the hall and loaded to go.

9.

You must notify the Chief or Asst. Chief anytime you will be out of town in excess of three (3) days.

10.

By notifying the Chief or Asst. Chief you can be put on inactive status and still maintain membership to the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department.
